Defective Liner Removal
Project Name –
Defective liner removal with a Prison
Equipment used –
Bruno Mini
Pipe diameter –
225mm
Where traditional milling can be a long, slow process of physically cutting the liner to dust, the UHP system can remove it in mass, getting you back on track.
The Problem
Our client got in touch after lining from the inside of a prison to the outside. Unfortunately, the liner had not cured correctly leaving roughly 40 metres defective. To make matters worse, the pipework in question ran directly under the perimeter fence for the prison!
The Solution
Prior to contacting us, our client had spent weeks with a milling robot trying to remove the liner. While ideal for reopening laterals, the robots simply cannot handle large scale liner removal effectively. They were only able to remove a couple of metres. We attended with Bruno Mini which is the ideal solution for the smaller 225mm pipework...
The Outcome
We were able to remove an average of 7-8 metres of liner per day. The host pipe was fully preserved and flow restored to the system in two weeks. Excavating the pipe would not have been possible given its location. Our client was then able to reinstall the liner with minimal disruption to site.
